Online shopping for Radiators and other heating appliances

Looking for Radiators

My wife and I bought an old house recently. To our dismay we found the antiquated cast iron radiators and piping had not been working for years and needed replacing. We went to several home building stores and didn’t really get a good salesman who could show us very many systems that matched the décor of our home or fit into our budget. I was getting a little annoyed that the salesmen were pushing one brand or another. A friend suggested I have a look for home heating devices online. What a great discovery. From the comfort of our home we could browse hundreds of heating units in choices that were quite astonishing. Radiators of ever type, style, shape and size are here. Online shopping has so many advantages over store shopping but especially when you are looking at putting the product in your home. Using our lap top we could take the picture of say some flat panel radiators and see what it would look like against a particular wall or corner. Try doing that in a store! Also the time and money saved driving from store to store and parking is another bonus. We hadn’t really considered details like replacing towel rails, but when we saw the variety displayed online we couldn’t resist. One of the best things we found are you can take as much time looking at products, comparing pricing without the annoyance of hovering sales staff. Taking a break from online shopping is a breeze too.

How to do it right

Most of us aren’t that knowledgeable about the details of the Radiators in our home and how they work. Shopping online I found out more information than I really needed but it was certainly interesting. Do you know where the coldest place in your house is? Yes by windows of course, but did you know this is the perfect place to place your heating unit? I didn’t and this kind of information and more is available in plain language you can understand. There are also FAQ sections on the sites so you can see the typical questions and of course answers on which column radiators will match your heating needs for example. Do you need to talk to someone about a particular product or model? There are 24 hour call centres that I found to be fast, friendly and extremely knowledgeable on all my questions on Radiators. Call centre staff are not sales staff so don’t feel the need to pressure you to buy something. They seemed more interested in sharing information rather than selling a particular heating unit. No matter how many questions we asked about the pros and cons of stainless steel towel rails their patience and professionalism never wavered. I can’t imagine how many people like us they deal with but obviously it is a huge number and they really impressed us with their help. We never would have ended up with the heated towel rails at such a good price without being tipped by Frank at the call centre.

How much is too much?

Shopping for Radiators can really get complicated due to all the choices so remember to take your time and do your research. There are of course many aspects to consider when choosing home heating units but price is usually one of the more important factors. Our budget was fairly small so we were looking foremost for a radiator system that wouldn’t break the bank. We had really fallen for the ancona radiators but not the price. They were a perfect design that matched the contours of our room but the price was just way over our budget. Well that got us to doing some searching for special promotions and offers. Here the internet can’t be beat for finding special deals and bargains galore. I never knew there were so many different brands of Radiators and that many are quite comparable in function, design and quality. Through careful searching and comparisons we were able to find perfectly marvellous multicolumn radiators with all the quality and design specs we had and that fit our budget. This is the key to smart shopping anywhere but at least for us it seemed easier to do on the web. Again I have to reiterate the lack of pressure to buy that we experienced. None of the online staff tried to steer us to more expensive heating units. However if budget is not a problem I would say the deco-therm radiators have the loveliest array of stylish designs looking more like works of art than a radiator.

Purchasing pleasure

The actual nuts and bolts of buying Radiators online are quite simple. After you have finally decided on the heating unit that will warm your home it is just a few clicks away from being on its way. If you have chosen carat radiators for example, once selected you will be prompted to choose style, size or length and colour if available. The total price will be shown after this as well as all shipping and VAT costs. Once you have placed the order the radiator is shipped in a timely manner. In some cases of custom orders like having your planal radiators embossed, they will inform when the shipping can be expected. The options to pay with credit card, bank transfer or E payment are available to choose from. What if the Radiators chosen didn’t quite match what you had expected? Rest assured that online companies will honour full refunds with no questions asked for purchases up to 7 days after delivery. What about guarantees? Well guarantees are not all the same. We looked at matrix-versatile radiators that had multi year replacement offers but some heating units offered only 1 year. Obviously the longer the guarantee the more expensive the radiator will be. Using the internet the information is easily available and not in some hard to find paper with micro print either. So there you have it. Now we can shop for heating units from the comfort of home together with the professionalism, quality, choice and prices that can’t be beat.
